Discussion and Direction on School Concurrency Attachment: SchoolConcurrencyNov9.pdf Attachment: Class utilization.xls Attachment: LOS Clay Schools.xls Attachment: How much is enough.ppt Minutes: Superintendent Owens addressed the Board regarding the state mandate for school concurrency by May 2008, and our problems creating a feasible plan due to misinformation and differing interpretations of the law. Six school districts were selected by the state as pilots for the school concurrency plan and Mr. Owens recommended that Clay County relax its efforts and give the pilot districts a chance to work out these uncertainties. Clay County's biggest problems stem from a lack of adequate funding. Superintendent Owens recommended, and there was consensus among the Board, to further discuss pursuing a half-cent sales tax campaign at the November 21st meeting. (Note for the record: The Attachments entitled "Class utilization, LOS Clay Schools, How much is enough," were developed by Board Member Wayne Bolla and do not reflect information verified by school district staff.)
